Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican-American sportscaster. Her employer is ESPN as the SportsCenter News Anchor. Since 2016, Collins has joined ESPN. She is the daughter of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been since her age of nine. This skill allowed her to land her first job with Univision, Miami. She worked alongside national producers on shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The CBS affiliate located in St. Petersburg hired her following this to become the sports reporter. In 2009 she moved into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an anchor for the newscast of KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In addition to reporting on issues related to trafficking in drugs and immigration on both sides of Mexico-Texas border, she worked as an anchor for the 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of news at 9 p.m. newscast in English and also an anchor for the at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she would fill in on occasion as a weather and sports anchor. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallasthe affiliate of Univision Dallas, and she is more responsible. She reported on The Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys as well as the NBA Postseason, as well as the finals for FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she served as the anchor. She has been promoted to anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. Also, she was an anchor on sports in Primer Impacto, a magazine program on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on November 22nd 1985. There is also an older sibling. The family moved from Mexico to Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. In 1992, her parents separated then shortly thereafter in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who passed away in the year 2006 from kidney cancer. In June in 2006 she spent an entire week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed there. Antonietta had just graduated high school, but was already aware of her plans for what she would be doing. It was a beautiful campus as well as offered the level of education she wanted. She graduated from high school and began studying media at the University. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also the manager of the WRMU's 91.1FM station where she worked over the years, became her friend. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to have self-confidence and was deeply touched by his love of journalism.
